A Romantic Woodland Cottage Surrounded by Mountain Laurel
There’s a story behind the name Laurelwood. When the second cottage at Chesley Creek was built, a large patch of mountain laurel was carefully cleared to make a place for it among the trees. The name stuck - and today Laurelwood remains a wonderfully private retreat tucked into the woods of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains.
Designed as a romantic getaway for two, Laurelwood invites you to slow down and settle into the rhythm of the mountains. Start your morning with coffee on the sitting porch, spend an afternoon hiking the private trails or exploring nearby Shenandoah National Park, then return for a long soak in the couples air-jet spa tub.
As evening arrives, grill dinner outside, curl up beside the gas fireplace, or build a fire and enjoy the stillness of the woods around you.
Inside, Laurelwood offers a queen bed, full kitchen, WiFi, heating and air conditioning, gas fireplace, ceiling fan, towels, linens and bathrobes - everything you need for a comfortable Blue Ridge Mountain escape.
Outside, enjoy your private sitting porch with grill, outdoor hammock, and private fire pit with firewood provided. Guests also have seasonal access to the shared saltwater swimming pool and approximately 20 miles of private hiking and single-track mountain biking trails throughout Chesley Creek.
Tucked Into the Laurel
Laurelwood puts you close to Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive, Virginia wineries, local farmers markets and some of the most beautiful scenery in the Blue Ridge Mountains - but you may find that staying put is exactly what you came here to do.
Pour the wine. Take your shoes off. Wander the trails. Soak in the spa tub. Sit together by the fire.
Laurelwood was carved out of the mountain landscape for a cottage - and became a little world of its own.
